Today it was announced that Ebony has announced her retirement from international cricket.
The 28-year-old first appeared for an England women’s development XI in 2001 and went onto play 22 one-day internationals and seven Twenty20 internationals in a career which was twice interrupted by serious back injuries.
Rainford-Brent made her full international debut in 2007 and was part of the squad which won the World Cup and World T20 in 2009.
Rainford-Brent, who will continue to play for Surrey women, said: “I feel it is the right time for me to retire from international cricket. It’s time now for me to concentrate on my career and next phase of my life away from the international game.
